It's just plain embarrassing. I try to be as selective as humanly possible about the TV I watch. Its not embarrassing to tell people you really like 24. There's even something noble about it. Jack Bauer is a man's man. He tortures people. He loves well. He does good. He's sacrificial. He takes care of his daughter. I like 24. I like LOST. It was a complete accident. Jen and I had a weekend to ourselves last summer so we rented LOST, season 1 and the thing is like a heroin addiction. It sucks you in and won't let go. But still there is something wonderful about that show (even though my friend Brandon made the wonderful observation that he's never been on a plane with so many beautiful people, and the fact that they are all stuck on one island couldn't be that bad.) But I have mocked, ridiculed, belittled, and stereotyped Grey's Anatomy. Our housemates started watching it last season and I laughed and taunted Jason for watching such crap.
then I made the mistake of watching it.
So this is a bit of a confession. Its good. And I apologize, publicly, for the public scorn I have heaped upon Jason for watching, and enjoying Grey's Anatomy. I watched it and I enjoyed it. I even like the Mat Kearney song stuck on at the end. And hey, 24 doesn't start again until the spring.
